Aim

To give every year six student the opportunity to learn and develop his/her leadership qualities and skills throughout the school year.

Rationale

The school community recognised that all students have leadership qualities and must be given as many opportunities to demonstrate these.  Every child has the ability to follow the school rules and be a role model for peers and younger students.  Augusta State School is committed to preparing students for their future by engaging them in a variety of roles within the school that may reflect wider society and future career prospects. Leaders should demonstrate leadership qualities and skills across all school environments.

Qualities

By actively engaging in the leadership program at Augusta State School, students have the opportunity to develop qualities that help strengthen their sense of self-efficacy and encourages them to further their learning. These qualities are self-confidence, self-discipline, assertiveness, humility, enthusiasm, optimism, empathy and emotional intelligence.
